Pre-processed Samples

Typically plates with pre-processed samples (cells treated according to experimental conditions and stained by the customer for the desired fluorescent output) are either dropped off or shipped to our facility. For local customers (San Diego area), we can pickup samples from and deliver data to your facility. Our scientists will analyze the samples and generate a single data file in .fcs format (listmode) and a timing file for each plate. The resulting raw data is either uploaded to an FTP server for download or burned onto a DVD and shipped back to the customer. We supply our proprietary analysis software for effortless final data processing and reporting by the customer. At your request, we can also assist with building of Excel analysis templates to enable reporting of the analyzed data in a custom format. We can also perform data analysis for you, providing raw data files along with analyzed results.


Assay Transfer

For customers that have developed their own flow cytometer-based assay but would rather prefer not to deal with compound handling we offer an assay transfer and accommodation option. Saryna scientists can do cell/tissue culture work, compound handling, staining, and sample analysis in a seamless fashion. Our laboratory is equipped with Tecan EVO 200 liquid handler which can be configured for various assays that do not require sterile environment. It features an 8-channel independently deployable pipetting head, a 96 channel head, a plate transfer arm, on-board plate centrifuge and plate lidder/de-lidder. Saryna is also well positioned to provide custom built hardware/electronics to accommodate unusual assay techniques.



  • Acceptable volume from 2µL to 900µL.
  • Typical volume from 10µL to 50µL.
  • Flow rate from 0.1µL/sec to 2.5µL/sec.
  • Processing speed up to 70,000 events/sec.
  • Supplied in 96 or 384 V bottom plates, tubes for > 250µL volumes.
Sample Carryover
  • Typically < 0.05% with fast washing.
  • This number can be further reduced by longer wash time at the expense of throughput.
Flow Cytometer
  • Beckman Coulter CyAn ADP flow cytometer.
  • 3 lasers - 405nm, 488nm, and 642nm
  • Up to 11 readout parameters for each cell/particle.
  • Sensitivity: MESF FITC < 100, MESF PE < 50

Note: Using samples with higher cell concentrations reduces the volume required to be injected to achieve necessary number of cells for proper statistics and shortens processing time, thus increasing throughput.
